Title

Real-Time Sign Language Recognition
-
Goal
-
-
Description
- Students design a pipeline for detecting hand position and shape from live video, choose and justify a fixed set of signs to recognize, and collect or source the data needed to train a classifier for that vocabulary. The system should run in real time, converting recognized signs into readable text on screen, with an optional spoken output. Students should reflect on the practical constraints of real-time recognition, such as robustness to different users, lighting, or camera angles, and discuss these limitations in their evaluation.
