Title
IADEAS: An Intelligent Multi-Sensor Accident Detection and Emergency Alert System for Remote and Low-Network Areas
Goal
The Intelligent Accident Detection and Emergency Alert System (IADEAS) is an IoT-based vehicular safety solution developed for remote, rural, mountainous, and low-network areas where road accidents may remain unreported and emergency response is often delayed.
Description
The system uses a microcontroller to process data from an accelerometer and gyroscope, a gas and smoke sensor, an infrared flame sensor, a temperature and humidity sensor, and GPS module. Multi-condition validation logic identifies a serious accident when a severe impact is detected or when a moderate impact occurs together with smoke or flame, thereby reducing false alarms. After detecting an accident, the system activates a buzzer and provides a five-second cancellation period through a physical button. If the alert is not cancelled, it sends an emergency SMS containing GPS coordinates and a Google Maps link through the SIM module, uploads event information to Firebase, and stores a forensic CSV record on an SD card.
