Title
-
Radiance Cascades in Godot
-
Goal
-
Explain and Demonstrate Radiance Cascades in the Godot game engine
-
Description
- Radiance Cascades is a recent global illumination method, aimed for use with real-time rendering. It can be used for both 2D and 3D global illumination, although a performant implementation is simpler and easier to do in 2D. Godot is a free, open-source game engine, that natively supports C# and its own scripting language GDScript, and provides high-level abstractions for graphics programming, but also exposes lower-level APIs if necessary.
Your main task for this masterclass is to develop materials on how this method works and how it can be implemented, demonstrated in a simple scene of your choice (e.g. a game scene from a side-view camera, common in side-scrolling games)
