Title
-
Context-Aware Pedestrian Path Optimization for Smart Urban Navigation
-
Goal
-
-
Description
- The basic aim of this project is to develop a context-aware pedestrian navigation system for optimizing walking routes considering multiple environmental and user-defined parameters such as sunlight exposure, shade availability, vegetation, seasonal conditions and user preferences in addition to traditional parameters mainly the distance and time. The developed system may also identify and suggest improvements to urban infrastructure and conditions such as recommending locations where tree plantation or trimming could enhance pedestrian comfort. The project would be required to cover various aspects such as seasonal sun/shade preferences (shade in summer and sunlight in winter), environmental conditions (such as temperature, weather, air quality and wind) and urban planning support. This project shall explore the current navigation systems and extend the current state-of-the-art by considering any additional aspect towards pedestrian comfort. The new features shall be implemented and evaluated using appropriate methods.
