Title
3D Workplace Monitoring System
Goal
Help an organisation understand what is happening in a workplace, building, or service area using a simple interactive 3D view.
Description
Students will design and produce software that shows a real or simulated workplace as a 3D model. This could be an office, university building, warehouse, hospital ward, laboratory, shop floor, or transport area. The system might allow users to move around the 3D space, click on areas or equipment, and view useful information such as occupancy, temperature, energy use, queue length, equipment status, safety issues, or maintenance reports. The project should focus on making complex information easier to understand. Instead of asking users to read several reports or dashboards, the system presents information in the place where it is happening. For example, a facilities manager could quickly see which rooms are overcrowded, which equipment needs attention, or which areas are using the most energy. Students should evaluate the software with users or representative users to find out whether the 3D view is useful, easy to understand, and better than a normal dashboard for certain tasks. Based on the evaluation, they should produce recommendations on how the system could be improved and used in a real organisation.

Background
Many organisations need to monitor buildings, equipment, people flow, energy use, and maintenance tasks. This project is relevant to general industry because it connects computer graphics with practical workplace problems such as operations, facilities management, health and safety, planning, and decision-making.
