Title
Multi-factor smart classroom attendance system
Goal
Develop a smart classroom attendance management system which implement multi-factor authentication for attendance verification. The system is to reduce proxy attendance and fraudulent check-ins. This system should provide real-time attendance monitoring and generate analytics and attendance reports for lecturers.
Description
Traditional student attendance systems, such as paper-based sign-in sheets and basic QR code scanning, have several limitations. These methods are vulnerable to proxy attendance, where students record attendance on behalf of others, as well as manual recording errors that can affect the accuracy and reliability of attendance data. Furthermore, attendance verification can be time-consuming when validating records. Existing attendance systems depend on a single authentication mechanism, such as QR codes, passcodes, or biometric verification. If the authentication mechanism is compromised or shared, the system may be easily bypassed. Therefore, a multi-factor attendance monitoring system is proposed to reduce proxy attendance, improve attendance accuracy, and automate attendance record management and reporting.
